WordCounter

Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 22, 2026. This policy explains how WordCounter by Vektosys handles information.

Overview

WordCounter is a client-side web application. Word counting, readability analysis, and text transformations run entirely in your browser. We do not require accounts and we do not operate a database for your writing.

Information we process

Text you enter

Text you type or paste into the editor stays on your device. It may be stored in your browser's local storage so drafts persist after refresh. We do not receive, transmit, or store your document content on our servers.

Preferences

Theme, writing mode, goals, and similar preferences are saved locally in your browser.

Contact email

If you email us at wordcounter@vektosys.com or use the contact form (mailto), we receive the information you choose to send so we can respond to your request.

Cookies and similar technologies

We use essential storage for preferences and consent. If advertising or analytics partners are enabled (for example Google AdSense), they may set cookies subject to your consent choices. See our Cookie Policy for details.

Advertising

When ads are enabled, third-party networks such as Google AdSense may collect device and usage data according to their own policies. You can manage ad personalization through Google's ad settings.

Data retention

Local storage remains until you clear your browser data or use the clear action in the editor. Email correspondence is retained only as long as needed to provide support.

Children's privacy

WordCounter is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your choices

  • Clear browser storage to remove saved drafts and preferences.
  • Use essential-only cookie consent to limit optional cookies.
  • Contact us to request deletion of any email you sent us.
